Thank you for this. I saw Moses the Law Giver and one thing that stuck with me was the seeming attempts to make people think about the law, not just follow the letter of the law, done with a sort of gentle humor that was very Lancastrian. 1500 BCE is a close guess; I’ve written about the Exodus on my blog and shown my receipts.
